A detached two-bedroomed cottage in Roslin, Midlothian was getting a little too small for the Fletcher family, especially when twins appeared on the scene. A new extension was designed and built to provide two extra bedrooms, a bathroom and a small sunroom, but it also created an exciting new addition to the main street running through this quiet traditional village. The structure is timber framed with iroko and render clad panels to all three elevations.

In 2011, new owners purchased the property and comissioned a further kitchen extension and new shower room.

The project was awarded “Highly Commended” in the Midlothian Council Awards for Good Design Design 2004 and was published in the Sunday Herald’s magazine in November 2004.
